A personal website
nattke.eu is my personal website, where I present my research, talks and publications. The website is not affiliated with my employer or any other institutions and organisations I work or have worked for – nor with any partners I collaborate or have collaborated with. All content reflects solely my own views; I do not speak for anyone but myself here.
Liability for content
I create the content of this website with care. Nevertheless, I cannot guarantee that it is accurate, complete and up to date. If you notice a mistake, I would appreciate a short note.
Liability for links
This website links to websites of other providers. I have no influence on their content; the respective provider is always responsible for it. No legal violations were apparent when the links were set. If I become aware of an infringement, I will remove the link immediately.
Copyright
Texts, photos and graphics on this website are protected by copyright. If you would like to use any of them, just ask. Publications and slides are additionally subject to the rights of the respective publishers and organisers.
Privacy policy
Controller
The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website is Matthias Nattke. You will find the contact details above.
Hosting at Hetzner
This website runs on a server that I operate myself. I rent the server from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. Hetzner provides the data centre and hardware and processes data only on my behalf, based on a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.
Server logs
With every request, the web server automatically stores some technical information: your IP address, date and time, the requested address, the previously visited page, browser and operating system, and the amount of data transferred. I need this information to deliver the website, find errors and fend off attacks. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted automatically after 14 days at the latest.
Cookies
This website sets exactly one cookie called “sprachwahl” (language choice). It remembers whether you chose the German or English version so that you are not redirected again. It contains no personal data, is technically necessary (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG) and is deleted after one year. Only when I log in as the operator are the usual WordPress login cookies added.
No analytics, no third-party content
I do not use any analytics, tracking or advertising services. Fonts, images and scripts are loaded exclusively from my own server – including the fonts, so there is no connection to Google Fonts. No videos, maps or social media buttons from other providers are embedded.
My WordPress network
nattke.eu is part of a WordPress installation that I operate myself and that also includes couch-blog.de. When a page is loaded, it loads a small script from couch-blog.de that synchronises logins between the domains. It runs on the same server; no data is transmitted to third parties.
Security and encryption
All pages are transmitted encrypted via HTTPS. To protect the login area against attacks, I use features of Jetpack (Automattic Inc.). They only apply to login attempts in the admin area, not when you simply read this website.
Contact by email
If you write to me, your message arrives in my work mailbox at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. I only use your details to reply to you (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them as soon as they are no longer needed for this and no retention obligations apply.
Links to other services
The references to LinkedIn, GitHub, Google Scholar, ORCID and other sites are simple links. Only when you click on them do you leave my website; from then on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time for:
- information about the data I process about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification or erasure (Art. 16 and 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
Just send me an email. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Brandenburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Access to Information.
